Commercial Trade Marketing Manager | Category & Customer Growth | FMCG
£60,000-£65,000 + £6,120 Car Allowance + Bonus (up to 15%) + 10% Pension
Hybrid | Maidenhead (2-3 days per week)
We’re supporting a recently carved-out, PE-backed FMCG business as they continue to build their commercial organisation.
This isn’t a traditional activation-led Trade Marketing Manager role.
Instead, we’re looking for a commercially minded FMCG professional who enjoys combining category thinking, commercial strategy and customer growth to deliver tangible business results.
You’ll work across major grocery customers, helping shape pricing, promotions, assortment, distribution and growth plans, whilst partnering closely with Sales, Category and Brand teams to identify opportunities and improve commercial performance.
This is a broad, hands-on role where you’ll have genuine ownership and the opportunity to influence commercial decisions within a lean, fast-moving business.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop customer and retailer growth strategies across key FMCG brands.
- Analyse category, shopper and commercial performance to identify growth opportunities.
- Influence pricing, promotional strategy, assortment and distribution decisions.
- Build compelling customer selling stories using market and category insight.
- Partner with Sales, Brand and Category teams to deliver commercial objectives.
- Monitor performance, challenge assumptions and recommend actions to improve results.
- Support the successful launch of new products and portfolio initiatives.
- Operate with a high level of autonomy in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.

You’ll probably have experience of:
- FMCG or Consumer Goods.
- Grocery retail customers.
- Category, commercial or customer strategy.
- P&L or budget ownership.
- Forecasting and commercial performance analysis.
- Using data to influence commercial decisions.
- Working cross-functionally with Sales, Category and Brand teams.
What we’re looking for
We’re far more interested in commercial thinking than traditional trade marketing activation.
You’ll be someone who enjoys solving commercial problems, spotting growth opportunities, influencing stakeholders and taking ownership in a business where decisions are made quickly and individuals have real visibility.
